Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has sworn in the new Caretaker Chairmen for the 23 local government areas at the Executive Council Chambers in Port Harcourt, following their confirmation by the State Assembly.
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially sworn in the new Caretaker Chairmen for the state’s 23 local government areas. The ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.
This appointment follows the screening and confirmation process conducted by the State Assembly. Governor Fubara had submitted the names for approval on Tuesday, after the tenure of the previous local government Chairmen expired on June 17, 2024.
The newly confirmed Caretaker Chairmen are as follows:
Abua/Odua LGA – Madigai Dickson
Ahoada East LGA – Hon. Happy Benneth
Ahoada West LGA – Mr. Daddy John Green
Akuku Toru LGA – Otonye Briggs
Andoni LGA – Reginald Ekaan
Asari Toru LGA – Orolosoma Amachree
Bonny LGA – Alabota Anengi Barasua
Degema LGA – Anthony Soberekon
Eleme LGA – Brian Gokpa
Emohua LGA – David Omereji
Etche LGA – John Otamiri
