Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, has officially launched the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ohafia Local Government Area Children’s Park and Recreation Center in Abiriba, a significant community development project funded by Fidelity Bank Plc.
In a landmark event on Thursday, June 20, 2024, His Excellency, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, Deputy Governor of Abia State, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ohafia Local Government Area Children’s Park, Playground, and Recreation Center in Abiriba. This project, backed by Fidelity Bank Plc, marks a significant investment in the community’s infrastructure and youth development.
Expressing his delight, the Deputy Governor acknowledged the project as a testament to the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. The initiative not only honors his contributions to Fidelity Bank Plc but also underscores his commitment as the Mayor of Ohafia Local Government Area.
The Children’s Park, with a contract value of ₦119,606,659.41 (VAT inclusive), represents a major milestone in community development. His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, was commended for his unwavering support in making this vision a reality. Additionally, gratitude was extended to the Enachioken-In-Council, under the leadership of HRM Eze Bar. Kalu Kalu Ogbu IV, for permitting the use of public space at “OKPUACHI” Ameke Abiriba for this significant project.
Special thanks were also directed to Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, MD of Fidelity Bank, for her pivotal role in bringing this project to fruition and her dedication to community welfare.
This groundbreaking ceremony signals a new chapter for the children and families of Abiriba, promising a vibrant space for recreation and community bonding.
