El-Rufai, A Major Hindrance To Human Development ln Northern Nigeria & Threat To National Peace & Unity

0

The frequency of ugly & dangerous utterances by the democratically elected Fulani governor of Kaduna state, is senselessly & disappointingly appalling, to say the least. As an ardent believer & champion of Fulani ethnic “superiority” or hegemony in the north or Nigeria in general, he continues to promote, encourage, incite & support ethnic violence in the country by his unguarded rhetoric’s, defence of criminality & animals.

El-Rufai is one man who is too full of himself, does not accommodate the feelings of other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria or their right to live in peace, devoid of the nuisance & destructive tendencies of his Fulani stock. He portrays himself as a myopic, ethnic & religious jingoist, who does not think or process information himself properly, before he talks about delicate or sensitive national security issues. Is he above the law or does he not think that leadership comes with some responsibility & as such, that something has to give?

El-Rufai had never issued any statement condemning the violation of the people of southern Nigeria, who are subjected to constant fear of being raped, robbed, kidnapped for ransom or killed by his ethnic Fulani, who herd cattle, as the only means of livelihood. He believes that his lowest of lows, among his Fulani brothers, living in forests in southern Nigeria, have better or more rights than those who own & farm in those forests they occupy. Why?

How many Fulanis, of school age, are on the scholarship of Kaduna state government or that of El Rufai, as an “educated” successful Fulaniman? Are his children living in forests or herding cattle, as a culture of the Fulanis? What’s the means of helping his kit & kin to escape poverty instead living with & behaving like the animals they herd? Does he ever think or believe in a better, more decent living condition for his people instead of inciting or encouraging them to violence?

Nigerians are sick & tired of the likes of El Rufai who are always out to preach ethnic, divisions, violence & issue threats of reprisals against other ethnic nationalities in this country, when cows are killed by individuals who’s farms were destroyed or their relatives raped, kidnapped or killed by their herders.

We can all recall that the dangerous & unguarded rhetoric’s by people like El Rufai, incited the Boko Haram insurgency, which has claimed many lives, depleted the economy of this country & destroyed the northeast. He is at it again & needs to be watched carefully before he plunges the country into another civil war. The culture of impunity & immunity promoted & enjoyed by his likes, should not protect them in getting away with murder. The law on freedom of speech in a democracy, does not protect those who shout fire in a crowded market, when there’s none.

El-Rufai cannot continue to promote/incite violence, issue threats against other tribes in defence of his blood thirsty killer tribesmen who live in forests & are devastating other peaceful parts of this country. He should serve this country & his tribesmen better by organizing northern state governments to give them education & help them live better lives in cities, instead of forests. Placing more value on cows than humans, is unimaginable, but that’s true here. That can never be acceptable in any sane society

It is really the high time federal government reigned in El Rufai, on a very dangerous mission of constantly making statements that could plunge this country into another civil war. In fact, the last time l checked, El Rufai was/is the Kaduna state governor, he is neither the President of Nigeria nor the spokesman of the north.

The quit notice issued by southern leaders was against Fulani people who chose to live in forests of the south, destroying farms & killing people. It was not against northerners who live in southern towns or cities, like southerners in the north, with verifiable means of livelihood.

A leadership that encourages & supports their people to live in the forest with animals, is vicariously responsible for the nuisance they constitute, the criminality they perpetrate & the threat they pose to peace & security. Such leadership is regrettable, questionable & unworthy. Period

No one, definitely not El-Rufai, can threaten the lgbo race for the sake of animals rampaging their land or herders kidnapping & killing their people.

Igbos have leaders & stand by whatever decision they make to protect their people
