Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Monday noted that the state will embark on another lockdown if the people of the state fails to observe COVID-19 measures.
Governor El-Rufai stated this in a post on his Twitter account while reacting to a tweet that he should not lockdown the state.
In the past few days, there has been an increase in Coronavirus cases across the country, which saw the Federal Government declare a second wave of the pandemic.
AFNews had earlier reported that Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, approved a new measure to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
Buhari restricted the number of guests at weddings, conferences, and sporting activities to fifty.
The Presidential Task Force in its daily briefing charged state government to shut down bars, clubs, restaurants and other activities.
El-Rufai in his post wrote, “We will only lock Kaduna State down if the public health protocols are not observed or complied with by our citizens.
“PLEASE Wear masks! Avoid crowds! Social-distance! Wash hands! @elrufai.”
