Alleged Abia N525 Billion Fraud: “Those who touches God’s property must face punishment”, says Uwakolam
Chief Emeka Uwakolam, the 2019 Gubernatorial Candidate on the platform of Accord Party in Abia State, has reacted to the allegations making the rounds over the investigation of former Governor of Abia State, Senator T. A Orji by the EFCC for looting of about N525 billion of the State, saying that such is a welcome development.
In a telephone interview with AFNews reporter, Chief Uwakolam explained that Abia State is God’s own State, and that all those who have stolen God’s money must never be allowed to go free, but that they must face punishment.
The former Guber Candidate stated that when he raised alarm that Abia State was being raped serially by successive government, that Abians seemed not to understand what it means and regretted that the State is really bleeding.
Continuing, Chief Akolam mocked the Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, saying that he has done an elaborate research and have not found a place where it was said that he (the Speaker) has had a working experience apart from Politics, pointing out that during the 2019 political campaign, the way many politicians were spreading money, never said any good thing about the State.
He regretted that there is no single development in Abia State because past and present politicians in the State have instead diverted the money meant for development into their private pockets.
Chief Uwakolam advised Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to make use of the remaining 3 years to make amend and with all sincerity so that his own punishment will not be greater than that of his predecessors.
He urged Abians never to relent but to stand still and see the salvation of God for all, noting that all those who stole God’s money from God’s own State will be punished.
