A’Ibom: I Will Be Disgracing God By Forging A Certificate – Umo Eno
The People Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Pastor Umo Eno, has maintained that he does not have a forged certificate, noting that doing so would be disgracing God.
Umo Eno said this while addressing Akwa Ibomites in a town hall meeting held in Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio.
Below is a scan copy of his address, written by Emmanuel Nicholas;
Though the thoughts of men may not be known by others but hold me by my words, for I will not lead you to ruins but to greatness and much glory.
The will power to transmogrify Akwa Ibom State burns within me as conflagration, I pledge to you all that I will put my exposures to use and draw in all my associates to ensure overall success ,while making God the benefactor of my government , for without him we will all fail.
Our Governor,Mr Udom Emmanuel have wrought prodigious strides in our land. I will do everything within me to sustain the impetus of this development and surpass it .
I was a very prudent student and as man who preaches morality and righteousness on the Altar of God for over thirty years now , it will be a disgrace to my God for me to forge a certificate.
I can never allow the name of my God to be dragged into mud ,nor give room to the world to disgrace the image of my family or ridicule the trust of Governor Udom Emmanuel in my life.
I stand here before you that my certificate was never forged but my beloved brother, Mr Akan Okon is been misleaded ,soon we will unite together and work for the common good of this State
I know you want this peace to continue, then you have made a better choice in me .
You want industrial revolution to continue ,then you have made a good choice in me .
You want security of lives and property to continue ,yes you have made a good choice by making me your Governor .
The sacrosanctity of our vision to transform this State to a full private-sector driven economy is a mission that must be archived without repudiation, with collective efforts but not with a singular capacity.
I will not run a government of exclusion but all-encompassing governance that there will be no divide between Political parties nor socio-political groups .
We will not run it on ethnic lines of ORO, Ibibio, Ekid and Annang , for we will destroy all forms of ethnocentrisms in the distribution of developmental projects and political offices.
This is therefore a call to service to all Akwa Ibom people across the world to bring all their expertise to work.
Let us all be free to advise, propose and project to my coming government initiatives that have the potentialities of transforming Akwa Ibom State; as long as your projection will add positive values to our common fortunes, my government doors will be opened to all .
It will a time we must work as a team without seclusion, for no land or people can progress without unity.
Blackmailing of one another will only build us mountains of hatred for one another but burying our differences for unity of purpose will grant us speed to succeed with gigantic transformation for our economy .
We will drive a wagon of development which no interest group will cry of marginalization, our people’s plight will be made a priority to the point of total extermination of any oversight in our prognoses of developmental projects.
My government will carry- out research, with the use of appropriate professionals in ascertaining each local government’s mineral resources and to know how best to use their natural resources for the development of our State
The development of manpower is another aspect that we will not allow to crash on stones of the lame hands, as we will empower our people with knowledge that will salvage the State from lack of skilled manpower during the coming explosion of marine economy in the State.
My coming government will sponsor Akwa Ibom youths to acquire knowledge and skills from both home and abroad, thereby relegating the importation of skilled manpower to zero percent.
The women of Akwa Ibom State have shown to greater percentage, that they are ready for improved representation in governance and to contribute immensely to the economic advancement of our dear State.
I hereby assure our wives,daughters, sisters and mothers, that their reputations will not be made mire to trample upon, rather, we will exult them with high offices and where we need professionalism for our projects ,they will not be consigned to the background as mere chef .
For as the Custodian of the law, I will not break the values of our common existence and equality , for men and women are equal before the law and God .
I will enforce the culture of entrepreneurship by providing zero percent loans to our youth ,women and elders to establish businesses ,for I know that small businesses are the life power of any economy .
Our barn of natural /mineral resources is one of the wealthiest in Nigeria today. No country or State with such rich heritage can be a failed economy
.
So we will depart our focus from the National allocation and concentrate within to create wealth from our untapped rich inheritance .
We may not be magicians to radiate the change we all expect over night, but with your trust in my hands and as you give your mandate to us as the bonding force ,we will archive all this without seeing tears of frustration dripping down your cheek.
My brothers and sisters, soon all the confrontation against me will disappear,all the court cases will be heard no more ,I promise all you today, that I won’t hate anyone who rose up against me.
When leaders lose their conscience, they also lose their values for human lives and plight to their good -living.
I don’t belong to those tandem of mindless leaders. My only bid to become your leader is to improve your living standard and grant you the status of self-dependent and self-sufficiency. Yes! it is achievable and attainable with our vision and mission at heart.
The competence of a leader should not be traded for mediocrity or being destroyed on the altar of ethnic egoism.

If this State must metamorphose to a full private sector State , let us divorce all forms of pull him down syndrome , for in the past we wasted more time pulling down our own than lifting ourselves up .
To what gains did this bring to us rather than belittling our common growth as a people? No outsiders can build our broken wall without a price or interest of gains.
But we can do it if we can all see this land as our only heritage that is also our pride and treasure.
No sane groom can murder his virgin -bride on the wedding day to feed his friends.
So no matter the differences in our interests, we should not destroy our state image for the sake of our selfish visions and we should not also invite strangers to mortgage our collective common wealth by using destructive tactics against each other and the State.
We will open up the rural communities with better Road networks in ensuring we alleviate the sufferings of our farmers who wish to transport their produce to urban trading centres for sales.
Education will be prioritized, as the free Education will be maintained , while granting more scholarships to the citizens of our State to study professional courses both home and abroad.
Skilled and vocational centres will be built to ensure our youth and women are equipped to meet up the coming demand for manpower in industrial evolution which will be our concentration.
We will partner the private sector to establish more industries .
Above all , we will complete Ibom Deep Sea Port and commence operation during my tenure as your Governor .
Honesty is the channel of truth between the soul and the mind. Those who nurture it are imbued with enormous power: the power to see, the power to know, the power to differentiate, the power to reflect, the power to choose, the power to speak the truth, and ultimately the power to grow.
Dishonesty is never the way to authentic power. Dishonesty leads to less real power. When you are honest, however, you are in alignment with the source and you maintain your positioning in the Divine Design for Harmony where your experience is one of real ease and joy and true power.
For Akwa Ibom State to take its rightful place and be more relevant in today’s world, it needs bold, inspiring and visionary leadership devoid of corruption and cronyism, and I, Pastor Umo Eno have the key of such leadership. I Stand for honesty, trustworthy, scrupulousness and conscientiousness , I am high-principled, Selfless, bonded in contentment, an anti-corruption crusader , proper, correct, upright, upstanding, high-minded, right-minded, moral, ethical, good, virtuous, just, noble, respectable, decent and above all, prudent.
With me, Akwa Ibom State have chosen a leader who is not corrupt,who is not a cultist ,who will not breed violence crimes and who will placed people over his personal needs and above all, very transparent Governor .
Security of lives and property within our borders is not negotiable.
We will equip all security agencies in the State for adequate functionality and enshrine our traditional institutions with more respect .
The Royal fathers will receive more gestures that will empower them to function well, while their palaces will be beautified to ensure their respect and honour from the people.
I stand here to promise you that I will be a governor for all, a leader that will bring that greater Akwa Ibom Dream to reality.
