A legal practitioner, Barrister Empero Gabriel Ogbonna, have alleged that his people have not seen any developmental presence of governor Okezie Ikpeazu PhD since his emergence in 2015.
Empero hails from Amaokoko Item in Bende Local Government Area of Abia state.
Featuring on AF-TELEVISION audience interactive program “Focal Point’ on Tuesday, Barrister Ogbonna opined that;
“Some many things are actually wrong in Abia state. This current government; there is nothing to show people of Item; Bende that we have a governor or a government”.
According to Empero , the only development seen in Bende Local Government Area, are remedial works attracted by individuals and former governor Orji Uzor Kalu.
“This current government of Okezie Ikpeazu, have not done anything for my people” he added.
Empero also stated that the governor has brought skeletal development in Aba with major roads being bad shape.
‘Go to Azikiwe road, that place have been balkanized and butchered; that place is almost abandoned. Look at the quality of road, the number of roads they have done in Aba, nothing much to show.”
According to him, the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, constructs roads on strategic points in the streets of Aba where most people can see, but abandon other areas.
“what they do is, those areas that people drive around, they will do some areas that when you are going there, people will think that something is being done but the moment you leave those major streets and you enter into some other areas, you will see that not much has been done.”
He finally admitted that the governor has done some things in Aba, however he noted that Aba is not the only area that make up the state.
“The people of Ukwa, Bende, Isuikwuato are not getting anything from this government. It is only a little of Aba North, Aba South and Obingwa where the governor comes from, that is where you see a little development. This government is very deceitful they are not being fair to us in anyway; this is our common patrimony” Ogbonna lamented.
