Abia Christmas Village Festival To Kick Off On December 25th For All Age Groups | READ MORE
In a bid to boost the tourism sector in Abia state and change the uninteresting scenery during Christmas period in Umuahia, the state capital, U-TOWN ENTERTAINMENT is hosting the maiden edition of ABIA CHRISTMAS VILLAGE which would last for one week.
According to the organizers, the event will kick start from December 25, 2023 till December 31st with varieties ranging from entertainment, cultural festival, children festival, games, competitions, food and drinks, and all round fun activities.
The Abia Christmas Village which is open for all age groups, is segmented into the afternoon and evening sessions and would hold at the outer space of the event centre at okpara square Umuahia, Abia state.
“It will solve the problem of lack of entertainment during Christmas period, it will solve the problem of finding it difficult to find where you will take your children to for fun'” the project manager, Mr Emenike Iroegbu, said while addressing a press conference in Umuahia on Monday.
Over 150 vendors are expected to be on ground with each paying the sum of sixty thousand naira (N60,000) for business space through out the week long event.
The programme schedule for the festival according to the project operations manager, Mr Peterson Agu, is as follows;
Day 1 – cutting of tape and lighting of the Christmas tree.
Day 2 – (day time) – children’s party; (evening) – Divas night out (all performances will feature only women).
Day 3 – food festival and movie night (strictly for all movies produced by Abians and those featuring Abians).
Day 4 – Arts exhibition and fashion festival and Ada Abia beauty pageantry gala night.
Day 5 – made in Abia trade fair and creative industry night.
Day 6- Abia cultural festival and contemporary dance night
Day 7 – cross over concert.
The festival is expected to attract more than1000 people each day according to the marketing head Emmanuel Ogbonna. Also, up and coming Abia artistes would be given a chance to perform.
The organisers of the festival calls for sponsors and partnership from individuals, and brands.
