Abia State APGA Removes Otti As It’s Leader: You Cannot Remove Otti from a Position He never Occupied.

Our attention has been drawn to a trending hogwash arising from a mischievous Press Conference/Release issued by some disgruntled felons, where in a failed attempt was made to ridicule the 2019 APGA governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti OFR.

In the said Press Conference/Release, presided over by the badly compromised/derailed outgoing state chairman of APGA, Augustine Ehiemere, and jointly singed by Ehiemere and one Onukwubiri Sunday, these hatchet men made two nauseating and unintelligent pronouncements.

One, that they were not aware that Dr. Alex Otti, OFR filed a petition in court challenging the fraudulent declaration of Okezie Ikpeazu as governor in the just concluded governorship election.

Two, that they had allegedly removed, Dr. Alex Otti as the leader of the party in Abia State.

In the light of the above misleading rabble rousing, we wish to state the following.

1. That the leadership of APGA is very much aware and was involved in the suit filed by Dr. Alex Otti OFR. It would be unreasonable to get Mr. Ehiemere and a few others who had been compromised and had gone to congratulate Ikpeazu without the consent of the party, to sabotage the suit involved.
APGA is an institution, and thus the absence of a deviated officer cannot halt the existence and operation of the party. Simply put, the claim is useless, baseless, unfounded and inconsequential.

2. That the issue of removing Otti as the leader of APGA in Abia, is not only ludicrous, but a creation of some dullards and lazy ignoramuses who were on an entertainment jamboree.
It must be stated for the sake of the uninformed that our party APGA has no constitutional provision for the position of State Leader. We only have a national leader of the party as provided for in Article 10 of the Party’s constitution, and our only governor, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano is at the moment, the national leader of the party.

Alex Otti, OFR has never addressed himself as the leader of APGA in Abia. Of course, as a man of genuine multiple achievements, he’s not excited by fantasies of titles, more so, one that is alien to our constitution.
However , APGA apostles and millions of Abians know that leadership goes with responsibilities, and having seen the courage, capacity, consistency, sincerity and seriousness with which Otti has dutifully carried the burden of APGA and opposition leadership in Abia, some people had voluntarily recognized and accorded him the respect deserving of a responsible leader. Otti would be glad to have dozens of patriotic leaders out there who would be willing to share this leadership burden, which for now is more of a cross of liberation than a crown of glory.

3. That it’s a nationally acclaimed truism that Alex Otti, OFR is an all round blessed man whose decision to venture into Abia state politics was propelled by the altruistic quest to arrest the leadership rot ravaging Abia state, as well as to wipe the tears of suffering Abia masses. He didn’t come to amass wealth, nor to seek comfort, and definitely not for fame. God has blessed him legitimately with all these in quantum, and thus he is a very happy and fulfilled man, who has no room for such bitterness which some of his opposing inferiors and cheap propagandists exhibit and imagine for him.

4. That investigations have consistently revealed the serious involvement of Abia State government in financing crisis in strong opposition political parties, especially APGA, and that senior appointees of the government have personally got involved to the extent that they release huge sums of money to publicize anti Otti conjectures and directly ask media institutions to ensure that every negative report is widely publicized.

The essence of this is to discredit Otti, whittle down his popularity and acceptability, dampen the spirit of his supporters, enjoy the freedom to loot the state dry unchallenged, and oppress the people. Unfortunately, the Ikpeazu led government is indulging in all these frivolities despitethe the suffering and hunger ravaging Abians.

We are by this release reminding the Ikpeazu government, that Otti would never be at the receiving end of these atrocities, never, hence the urgent need for the government to use the resources being wasted in the news papers, on radio, on the expensive cable TV stations and on social media to pay suffering workers and dying pensioners, invest in infrastructure, as well as create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths.

Abians are interested in good governance, not cheap politics, and the earlier Ikpeazu and his allies were made to understand this, the better for them.
