ABIA 2023: Alex Otti Reveals How His Govt Will Create Jobs | WATCH VIDEO
Dr. Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Abia State, has assured Abians that if elected, his administration will prioritize industrialization to step down on the rate of unemployment in the state.
Otti in a media parley with journalists in his country home on Tuesday, regretted that majority of industries in Aba which were creating direct and indirect jobs have all gone into extinction.

The governorship candidate stated that insecurity is fueled by lack of jobs to a large extent, adding that every well meaning government needs to thinker how to create jobs for her citizens which will in turn reduce crimes and increase revenue generation.
“there is a whole lot to be done to generate revenue. It must be properly sequenced; you must understand what to do before doing it. Industrialisation is key” Otti said.
Alex Otti also hinted that his administration will invest in solid minerals in Abia State, resurrect the ceramics industry which according to him, past and present administrations in the state allowed to fold up displacing Abians and others who were employed there.
He assured that his administration would utilize the natural resources deposited in commercial quantities at various areas of the state to boost the economy of Abia state and also create jobs.
Otti listed some natural resources existing in commercial quantities in various areas of the state like;
Kaolin – found in Ohiya in Umuahia south Local Government Area of Abia State (mostly used for ceramics).
Lignite- a solid mineral used in powering steam engine for electricity found in Ikwuano.
Phosphate- used in the production of fertilizer; found in Bende Local Government Area.
Lime stone – for producing cement; found in Arochukwu area and others areas.
