ABIA 8TH ASSEMBLY: Asiegbu Congratulates Emeruwa, Meregini, Charge Them On People-oriented Legislation

The Young Progressives Party (YPP)’s candidate for Umuahia North State Constituency in the March 18, 2023 elections, Hon. Nnaji Obed Asiegbu, has congratulated the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa and Rt. Hon. Austin Meregini on their emergence as principal officers of the house.

Asiegbu in a statement made available to the press charged with the newly elected Speaker and his Deputy to represent the interests of the people in their lawmaking while pursuing oversights that will strengthen democracy and enhance good governance and development.

He stated that Abia state is behind owing to the inability of the previous Assemblies to produce quality results and called on them not to fail the electorates.

Asiegbu noted that 2023 has ushered in hope for Abia, therefore, the 8th House of Assembly is expected to enhance the overall success of the Government through quality legislation.
