ZAMFARA: Committee Demand Over N3M To Investigate Chieftaincy Title On Bandit
The committee set up by the Zamfara state government to investigate the conferment of chieftaincy title on a ‘repentant’ bandits’ leader, Adamu Alieru, is demanding for three million, two hundred and ninety three thousand, eight hundred naira.
Recall that the Emir of Sabon Birnin Yandoto of Tsafo Local Government Area of Zamfara state, Aliyu Garba Marafa, had come under fire for conferring Sarkin Fulani (leader of Fulani) on Adamu Alieru who is a notorious bandits and is on the state police command’s wanted list.
Following the controversies surrounding the conferment, the state government announced the suspension of Mrafa, noting that it would investigate the matter.
A viral letter signed by Musa Garba Bukkuyum Esq, secretary to the investigation committee and addressed to the Secretary to Zamfara state government requests for N3,293,800 fund to aid the investigation which according to the letter, commenced Thursday, July 21, 2022.
