According to Yusuf, the roundabout was demolished because;

  • The structure was too tall.
  • It defaced the Government House’s main gate, and blocked the view for security surveillance.
  • It posed traffic challenges because of its size.

Revealing plans to reconstruct the roundabout, Yusuf said his government resolved to relocate the roundabout to a more secure location at the Naibawa Flyover on the outskirts of Kano City.

“The Kano state government is dedicated to fostering infrastructural development while preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region.

“This relocation is a testament to our commitment to preserving important cultural landmarks and promoting development in Kano State. We want to provide better projects for our citizens.”
