How Ginger Onwusibe Beat ACB Agbazuere To Win Isialangwa North/South Fed. Const

The battle between two strong political gladiators; Honorable Ginger Onwusibe (Labour Party candidate) and Professor ACB Agbazuere (PDP candidate) for Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency, came to a climax on Saturday, February 25, 2023 as they slugged it out at the polls.

The test of popularity, capacity and competence played out at the polls as supporters of the duo trooped out to their various polling units to elect their choice candidate.

However, as the game of politics requires that one person must emerge winner, which is usually determined by the number of votes gained, Honorable Onwusibe was declared winner of the election.

According to a result announced by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Abia state, Mr. Asogwa Ikechukwu; Onwusibe polled 20,411 votes; Agbazuere polled13, 508 votes while the APC candidate polled 2, 976 votes.

Though the electoral seat was also contested by candidates of other political parties, Onwusibe and Agbazuere, a former Chief of Staff to the governor, were the major contenders in the tussle for power.

The seeming concentration on Onwusibe and Agbazuere is not far from the existing disagreement between the duo who were once same party faithfuls and had a ‘student- teacher relationship’.

Recall that Onwusibe who is currently a state House of Assembly member, had dumped PDP for Labour Party after the party allegedly refused to give him ticket to continue his political career.

The duo while appearing on media platforms separately and together on various occasions before the election, had each claimed to be more competent than the other to represent their people.

Meanwhile, in a reaction to his victory on Monday, Onwusibe on his social media handle wrote;
