Ginger, Agbazuere Slug It Out On Abia Election Debate, Reel Out Their Plans For Isiala Ngwa Fed. Const. | WATCH VIDEO

 

The major contenders for the Isialangwa North and south Federal constituency seat, Honourable Ginger Onwusibe of the Labour Party (LP) and Professor ACB Agbazuere of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday afternoon, had their own fair share of the popular Abia election debate, 2023 edition.

 

Speaking, Onwusibe noted that he is the most qualified candidate to represent the people of Isiala Ngwa North and south in the green chambers having accumulated legislative experiences from his years of rendering service to the people and representing his people in the Abia State House of Assembly.

This position was however disputed by Professor Agbazuere who is of the opinion that Honourable Ginger Onwusibe is not qualified to go to the green chambers to make laws as according to him, lawmaking is for professionals.

 

“If he (Ginger) is talking about law making, I am the father” Agbazuere argued.

 

Agbazuere assured that he will give his people a new image and also be their voice just as he was when he served as Chief of Staff to the governor and in other positions he had served under.

Not perturbed by the dispute made by his rival, Onwusibe maintained that he knows the need of his constituents and is only seeking for a platform to replicate and improve on the things he has done for his people.

 

Onwusibe assured that if elected, he will prioritize; youth employment, education, and ensure that life is made easy for the people of Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency.

 

Honourable Ginger Onwusibe added that his priority if elected will be; to champion Local Government autonomy; sponsor a bill that will criminalize non-payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.

On his own part, Professor Agbazuere listed his priorities as; ensuring social security, lobbying for funds to establish industries which would in turn create employment opportunities, slashing of cost of governance, making people centered laws, empower traditional rulers to help fight insecurity, state police, Local government autonomy, among others.

 

The duo stated that they have confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deliver a fair election.
