Barely hours after Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State publicly shut down reports of him dumping the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the emergence of a viral video has shown the politician was absent at the party’s declaration of a Presidential running mate this afternoon.
Wike was evidently absent at the PDP secretariat where the party’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar announced Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate in the 2023 Presidential election this afternoon.
The 59-year-old was linked to the coveted Vice President slot as a strong competitor.
His name alongside Okowa and Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom were submitted to Atiku for selection.
Wike’s conspicuous absence has left raging reactions from sections of Nigerians and netizens who are wondering if the politician has made a u-turn on his decision to remain in the party.
