UMEH KALU: Legal Firework Continues As Court Summons Abia PDP, Abraham Amah | SEE DOCS

 

Following the expiration of a notice of action filed by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and former Attorney General of Abia State, Chief Umeh Kalu, a High  Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Abuja, has summoned the duo of Abia state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Elder Abraham Amah, the Abia State PDP Vice Chairman cum Acting State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, over an alleged defamatory publication made against Umeh Kalu.

 

ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER had reported that Kalu in a notice of suit, demanded an apology from Amah to be published on two national dailies, a retraction of publication and N500,000,000 million damages over an alleged defamatory publication he made on his social media handles and circulated same.

Kalu maintained that Amah’s publication against him title; “UMEH KALU’S VERY UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND INTERFERENCE IN THE ONGOING ABIA ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL” suggested that he is an impostor, a mischief maker and documents forger which is not his true personality.

 

In a writ of summons dated July 14, numbered; FCT/HC/CV/6833/2023, the court ordered Amah and PDP to make an appearance before it within 30 days of receiving the writ.

“You are hereby commanded that within 30 days after service of this writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of the above claimant”.

 

“And take notice that in default of your so doing , the claimant may proceed therein and judgement may be given in your absence” the writ read in part.

Amah (claimant), among order demands, is asking the court to compel PDP and Amah to jointly and severally pay a damage fee of five hundred million naira for tarnishing his hard earned reputation.

 

“…..an order of the court compelling the two defendants (PDP and Abraham Amah) jointly, and severally to pay general damages of five hundred million naira for the damage done to the reputation of the claimant …….” it added.
