TRA-GEDY: Gunmen Attack, Kill Scores Of Locals In Benue | READ DETAILS
Gunmen, on Monday night, simultaneously attacked communities in two Local Government Areas of Benue state, leading to the death of at least 23 locals.
All Facts News gathered that Mbadwem in Guma local government area and Tiortyu in Tarka local government area of the state were invaded with multiple gunfire at about 8pm.
15 bodies were recovered in Tyiortyu of Mbakor community Tarka local government area, while Guma recorded a loss of 8 lives including a traditional ruler from Logo.
Several others who sustained injuries from gunshots while fleeing the attack are currently receiving treatment at the NKST Christian Hospital in Uchi.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, Caleb Aba, Chairman of Guma LGA, said seven locals of Tse-Sumaka village were killed while others are still missing.
This has caused rage amongst the youths of these Local government areas who have taken to the streets to protest against the attack by blocking the Makurdi-Gboko-Calabar Road with bodies of the victims, causing a major road traffic.
