An Interpol consultant and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sir Chikwe Udensi, has opined that the problems facing Abia state is attributed to poor and hungry people who are given power to lead Abians.
Udensi said this in an interaction after he distributed N10,000 cash gift to pensioners in the state.
Recall that Udensi had in October, promised to render financial support to pensioners as a way of helping the Abia state government in the discharge of it’s responsibilities.
The Interpol consultant had raised alarm over the alleged refusal of the relevant Bodies to release the Pensioners data.
The Abia state Commissioner for Information, Eze Chikamnayo, while fielding questions from journalists during a press conference had queried who Udensi met for the data and the procedure he followed to get access to the pensioners’ data.
In a viral video Udensi who recently fulfilled his promise to pensioners for the festive period said;
“The problem we have in Abia is that those given power are poor people. You don’t make a poor man a king. They are hungry people, they are keeping the people’s money, they are keeping the elders money. They should bring it out and if they don’t bring it out, when they leave power, they will account for it.”
He assured that the support will be continuous as he has resolved to continue helping in his own little way to ensure that the pains of Abia pensioners are alleviated to a bearable minimum pending when the government will do the needful.
Recently, the Executive governor of Abia state, Dr.Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, approved the release of over N3.2bn, to offset the backlog of salary arrears owed to workers of the state government in various parastatals.
