TARABA GUBER PRIMARY: Why We Refused To Vote, Stoned Gov, His Deputy – Delegates
On Wednesday, the governor of Taraba state, Darius Ishaku and his Deputy Haruna Manu, were stoned by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) delegates at the Catholic Pastoral Centre Jalingo.
Trouble started when the governor and his deputy’s convoy drove to the centre for the party’s guber primary.
Speaking to newsmen, some of the delegates attributed their grievance to an alleged imposition of the state party chairman, Kefas Agbu.
They argued that Agbu had never been part of the process from the beginning and as such they cannot accept him being imposed on them at the 11th hour to fly the party’s ticket ahead of the 2023 election
Agbu is alleged to have been anointed by the former Minister for Defense, General Theophilus Danjum.
