The Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu Prof Gregory Ibe has enjoined Abians in particular and Nigerians in general to always uphold political leaders in prayer. Speaking at the residence of the former chairman of Abia state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Alfredo Awah, Prof Ibe contended that it is the will of God that fervent prayers, intercessions and supplications be constantly rendered on behalf of people in authority.
According to Prof Ibe, God enjoins us to prayerfully support our leaders so that they can lead with his fear and reverence. That is why I encourage PDP faithfuls and indeed all Abians to continue interceding for our former party Chairman Chief Alfredo Awah, who has been plagued by sickness for some time now. I believe strongly that our moral and spiritual support will act as catalyst to his healing.
Responding to the Chancellors encouraging sentiments, a visibly elated Chief Awah appreciated the visit and prayed God to reward the effort abundantly. The visit featured intercessory prayers for Chief Awahs miraculous healing and offer of immediate employment to the first son of the former Abia PDP chairman by Prof Ibe.
Prof Ibe was accompanied on the visit by many political stalwarts including former Commissioners and Local Government Council Chairmen.
A prominent politician, Chief Alfredo Awah was chairman of Abia PDP when the party was in opposition to the then ruling Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in the state.
