Gov. Otti Launches Operation Crush, Set To Dislodge Criminals In Isuikwuato, Umunneochi LGAs | WATCH VIDEO
The fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in Abia State especially Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Government Areas, seems to be getting more attention as Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR has launched what he called OPERATION CRUSH.
While speaking during the launch, Governor Otti made it clear that the aim of launching the security unit is to make sure that no inch of the state territory is allowed to be a safe haven for criminals. He revealed that criminal activities especially in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi axis of the state have made some citizens to abandon their homes, farms and other means of livelihood.
The governor posited that the above is no longer acceptable in the state and that security operatives have been charged to crush all forms of crime and criminality including informants and those providing shelter for them.
Governor Otti specifically mentioned that all activities of kidnappers and other violent crimes must be crushed within the Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Government Areas where kidnapping has become the order of the day for a long while now.
“Special attention shall be paid to flash points around communities within Umunneochi, Isuikwuato, Aba, Umuahia and a few other places, with a firm determination to identify and clear all criminal hideouts using the superiority of our force and operational expertise of our security agencies”
The governor equally warned that security operatives who will be in charge of this operation within different areas will be held accountable for any harassment of citizens during these operations.
Governor Otti warned that traditional rulers and landlords who shield or harbor criminals will equally be dealt with by the Operation Crush team. WATCH VIDEO BELOW:
