Nnamdi Kanu’s Family Reacts To Gov. Soludo’s Visit | READ IN FULL
Family of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has lauded the visit by Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Soludo had on Friday, visited Kanu who is in Department of States Service (DSS) custody pending judgement on his trial.
Soludo while given an update on his visit to Kanu wrote on his social media handle wrote;
“I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, (Friday, 13th May, 2022) to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East.
He was in very high spirits and we had a frank and insightful discussion in a very convivial atmosphere. He expressed sadness over what he described as “sacrilegious killings” of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless “sit at home” order, perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB. He assured me that if the opportunity arises, he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain peace at all times.
Together, we shall restore peace, security and prosperity in Anambra and the Southeast.
It is well indeed!”
Recall that Kanu is facing charges bordering on alleged felony and terrorism.
Reacting to the governor’s gesture, Prince Emmanuel, younger brother to Nnamdi Kanu said Soludo did a remarkable thing by visiting Kanu, an act other south eastern governors are yet to do.
Speaking to Vanguard, Emmanuel hailed the governor, adding that his visit has confirmed that Kanu “is not a bad man as being portrayed by the Nigerian authorities”.
