NBS Releases List Of States With Highest, Lowest IGR In 2022 | SEE LIST
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has listed states with the highest and lowest ranking in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the year 2022.
According to NBS’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) State Level report, published on Monday, October 23, 2022, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos and Rivers States are the most viable states with the highest IGR in 2022.
On Monday, NBS disclosed this in its Internally Generated Revenue State Level report.
According to the report, the states generated as follows;
FCT – N124 billion.
Lagos State – N651 billion.
Rivers State – N172 billion.
On the other hand, the lowest three performing states in 2022 were Kebbi, Taraba and Yobe, with N9,146 billion, N10,238 billion and N10,456 billion IGR, respectively.
A total of N1.93 trillion IGR was generated by the 36 states and the FCT from the revenue in the sub-category PAYE, Direct Assessment, Road Taxes, Stamp duties, Capital gain tax, Withholding taxes, other taxes and Local Government Areas revenue.
