Abia State Government led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has issued Tax palliatives to Abians and people doing business in Abia State in a bid to help cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abia State COVID -19 TAX PALLIATIVES

The Governor of Abia State has approved tax reliefs to residents of Abia State to mitigate the economic impact of prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.

Find below Identified Sectors and their respective Waiver/Discount

 

1. Small Scale Industries/Artisans (PAYE) and all forms of personal income taxes/direct taxes).

Filing and payment for past 3 years arrear

WAIVER/DISCOUNT

25% waiver/discount for payment from now to end of July 2020;

20% waiver/discount for payments in August 2020;

15% waiver/discount for payments in September 2020.

2. TAX CLEARANCE

First-time Tax Clearance Certificate issuance (TCC)

WAIVER/DISCOUNT

Reduced from minimum of N60,000 to the following:

Payments made in July 2020: N30,000

Payments made in August 2020: N35,000

Payments made in September 2020: N40,000

Payments made in October 2020: N50,000

Payments made in November 2020: N55,000

3. Capital Gains Tax
WAIVER/DISCOUNT

Reduced from 10% of value of Capital Gains to the following:

Payments made in July 2020: 5%

Payments made in August 2020: 6%

Payments made in September 2020: 7%

Abia Property and Land Use Charge (AbiaPLUC)

WAIVER/DISCOUNT
Waive 2 of the 3 years for all arrears paid before end of July 2020

Waive 1 of 3 years for payment in August 2020
