The Igbo Media Network (IMN) has commended South East Governors for their recent pronouncement to secure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, urging them to take concrete actions. IMN also addressed Honorable Obi Aguocha’s efforts, emphasizing the need for collective action.
The Igbo Media Network (IMN) has expressed strong support for the recent efforts by South East Governors to secure the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The group’s press release, signed by Mazi Jacob Ikechi and issued in Enugu, applauds the governors’ renewed commitment but calls for concrete steps to ensure a successful outcome.
“This is not the first time South East Governors have called for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” stated Ikechi. “We are expecting results from this initiative and urge the governors to back up their words with decisive actions.”
IMN highlighted the failure of previous efforts by the South East Governors’ Forum, which did not yield positive results. “The previous governors also made similar pronouncements, but nothing came of it. We are tasking the current governors to do everything in their power to ensure Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is released,” Ikechi emphasized.
The group stressed that the release of Nnamdi Kanu would restore peace to the South East and help distinguish between genuine freedom fighters and criminals masquerading as such. “His release will help us identify criminals masquerading as freedom fighters, which will enable us to deal with them effectively,” Ikechi added.
IMN also addressed the role of Honorable Obi Aguocha, a politician actively campaigning for Kanu’s release. While acknowledging his efforts, the group criticized Aguocha for allegedly using Kanu’s plight as a political tool to improve his image.
“Aguocha’s current performance is underwhelming, with constituents complaining about a lack of tangible representation. While other representatives are bringing projects to their constituencies, Aguocha is busy claiming to fight for Kanu’s release, a task he cannot achieve alone,” Ikechi remarked.
IMN urged Aguocha to join forces with other South East leaders to work collectively towards Kanu’s release. “Let Aguocha collaborate with other leaders to see that our leader and brother is released,” Ikechi concluded.
The Igbo Media Network calls for solidarity and effective action among South East leaders to ensure the successful release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort in achieving this goal.
