BILLBOARD CLASH: I Am Focused On Attracting Social Interventions For Abians – Greg Ibe
Professor Greg Ibe, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Abia State, has stated that he is focused on attracting social intervention to Abians and would not be distracted by any smear campaigns.
This comes few days after an altercation ensued at Okpara Square Umuahia, between alleged supporters of APGA’s governorship candidate and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over campaign billboards.
There was dispute on Saturday after supporters of PDP mounted campaign flex banners of Professor Uche Ikonne, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in front of Greg Ibe’s campaign office at Okpara square, blocking the already existing banners of Ibe.
Responding, the APGA Gubernatorial candidate in a statement signed by his media team; Gregory Ibe Media Associates (ProGIMA), hinted on taking a legal action as according to the media team, the act by the PDP supporters was an abuse of executive powers and violation of human rights and privileges.
The statement signed by PROGIMA read in parts;
Their first major shot was to print large flex banners that would enable them achieve the ill-conceived dirty job of illegally masking the emblems of Prof Gregory Ibe, officially hung in front of his campaign office. This flagrant abuse of executive powers was carried out in gestapo fashion, without according respect to the rights and privileges of law abiding and tax paying citizens, thereby providing sufficient grounds for litigation.
Unfortunately, just like similar efforts in the past, this smear campaign is dead on arrival as Abians know that Prof Gregory Ibe remains an independent candidate free of the unnecessary baggage of godfathers.
For the avoidance of doubt Prof Gregory Ibe remains undeterred by these no-brainer antics of the PDP as his daily pursuit is how to attract different levels of social intervention to Abians leveraging a vast network of local, national and international connections that God has so graciously endowed him with.
