Governor Alex Otti Never Vowed Not To Pay April Salary – S.A Debunks Rumours

Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Executive governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has refuted a rumour being circulated by one Promise Uzoma Okoro, claiming that the governor has vowed not to pay April backlog of salary owed workers by the administration of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

Ekeoma while refuting the rumour in a statement on Wednesday, clarified that governor Alex Otti plans on paying May 2023 salaries first (same month he came into office), before tackling the humongous accumulated salary arrears left behind by the immediate past administration of the PDP, including the April salary.

He restated that governor Otti is conscious of the importance of payment of salaries which will grow the economy and charged Abians and the entire public, not to regard unfounded rumours peddled by Okoro and his cohorts.

The statement read;

ABIA GOVERNOR, DR. ALEX OTTI DID NOT VOW NOT TO PAY APRIL SALARY.

I read with dismay, the FAKE report being widely circulated by one Promise Uzoma Okoro wherein he alleged that the governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR has vowed never to pay the April salary arrears left behind by the former government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

The said Mr. Okoro could not state where and when the governor made the statement.

He probably anchored his assumption on the plans of the governor to pay May salary first, which of course is his immediate priority before tackling the humongous accumulated salary arrears left behind, which include the April salary Okoro mentioned.

The governor understands the place and importance of payment of salary as an enabler of economic growth and development, and is therefore marshaling out the right strategy geared towards clearing the Abia salary mess.

It is curious that the poster who had earlier claimed that governor Ikpeazu wasn’t owing April salary is now talking about non payment of the same April salary, after Ikpeazu had left office.

The public should see the half-baked report as one of those fabrications dished out for the purpose of drawing social media traffic and deceiving unsuspecting members of the public, and should therefore disregard the report and ignore the author.
