Governor Alex Otti of Abia State encourages citizens to use their talents and skills to make a living, emphasizing hard work and vision as key to overcoming socio-economic challenges.
The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting hardworking individuals who strive to utilize their talents and skills, no matter how small, to improve their lives. Speaking at Unity Chapel Government House, Umuahia, during the Sabbath Worship on Saturday, July 20th, Governor Otti emphasized the need for people to engage in meaningful activities by identifying their vision and working diligently towards achieving it.
Expounding on the biblical scripture from 2 Kings 4:1-7, Governor Otti urged the congregation to revisit the passage, stating, “The essence of that passage is that whatever you have in your hands, that’s what God will use to bless you. If you don’t have anything doing, find something. It is a challenge for you to discover your vision and ensure it is not betrayed.”
Governor Otti highlighted that his administration is dedicated to encouraging people who have something to offer. He reassured the people not to let their faith be shaken by the current socio-economic challenges in Nigeria, stating, “I want to encourage you not to let your belief be shaken. Not even all the challenges we are seeing in the country today should shake you.”
In his sermon, Pastor Kenneth Iheoma, President of the Abia North Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, echoed the governor’s sentiments, emphasizing that God blesses those who serve faithfully and have something to offer, be it a skill or a talent. Pastor Iheoma stated, “God does not forget His faithful servants but will always bless them. For God to bless you, you must have something with which He will bless you.”
The service was attended by key government officials, including Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Eme Uche Eme, Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, and Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Apostle KC Wiper, among others.
Governor Otti’s message serves as a clarion call to the people of Abia State to remain resilient and proactive in the face of challenges, encouraging them to contribute positively to their communities and the state at large.
