Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 73, was a notable figure in Nigerian politics. An engineer and author, he was the first elected civilian governor of Abia State and played a crucial role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He also served as Minister of Science and Technology and was honored with the title of Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).
The burial program begins on November 4, 2024, with a Night of Tributes at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. The following day, November 5, a requiem mass will be held at the Church of Assumption in Asokoro, Abuja.
