The member who represents Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Prestige Ossy, has called on Christians in Abia State to use the period of Easter to pray fervently for continued peace and unity of Nigeria, and God’s mercy on earth.
In his Easter message to the people of the state, the lawmaker further enjoined Christians to pray for the end to the coronavirus pandemic which has ravaged almost every part of the world.
Ossy said the lessons of love, humility, selflessness, forgiveness and perseverance shown by the Lord Jesus Christ through his death on the cross and resurrection should be emulated by all Abians at all times especially at this critical period in the nation’s history.
He pointed out that although Christ underwent very trying and difficult times on the cross in order to bring salvation to man, He never gave up but persevered and triumphed in the end.
He said the salvation brought to mankind by Christ should not be taken for granted and admonished Abians to look up to God for solutions to their problems.
The Abia federal legislator who shared some COVID-19 stay at home palliative to his constituents on Saturday urged everyone to adhere to all the Government directives to keep them and their families safe until this virus is contained.
He congratulated Christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration and wished them a happy celebration, stating that though this is not the kind of Easter that we wished for, but that we can only keep faith and keep praying to God that this too shall pass in no time.
