Delta State Deputy Governor Lays Mother In-law To Rest In Abia, Gov. Otti, Gov. Sherif Present

 

 

The remains of late Ezinne Gold Christiana Obinnaya Egege, mother in-law to the Deputy Governor of Delta State has been laid to rest in her country home Amuke, Ntigha Uzo, Isiala Autonomous community in Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

 

Speaking during the funeral service conducted by the Anglican Communion, the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti thanked God for the exemplary life of the deceased.

Governor Otti described the deceased as a great woman of God who left legacies on the sands of time, noting that it was not how long but how well one lived that matters and thanked God that the deceased lived well.

The Governor admonished the bereaved family not to mourn like those without hope and assured that on the resurrection morning, they shall meet their mother with other departed faithful.

 

Also speaking, the Governor of Delta State Elder Sherif Oborevweori noted that the deceased impacted on people during her lifetime, even as she was dedicated and loved by all, adding that she wouldl be remembered for her good deed.

He commiserated with the Egege family on the irreparable loss and prayed God to grant her soul a peaceful repose.

 

In a sermon on the topic “This Great Promise” the Archbishop of Aba Province of Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia urged Christians to strive to please God as to be a beneficiary of the promise of eternal life.

 

The Most Rev Nwaobia while also enjoining Christians to  be at peace with God, said the event calls for sober reflection as no one knows his begining and ending.

In his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme noted that her mother in-law was a loving and kind-hearted woman who left behind indelible marks and thanked Governor Alex Otti and his Delta State counterpart, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori among others for coming to identify with the family.

Late Ezinne Gold Christiana Obinnaya Egege who died at the age of 68 years is survived by her Husband Sir Ishmael Nwaoru Egege and host of other relations.

 

The burial ceremony was attended by members of both Abia and Delta States Houses of Assembly, members of the Executive Council and host of other dignitaries.
