Following the shut down of Arochukwu College Of Education in Abia State since September 2018, which has long affected the academic programs and graduation of students, three student leaders from the institution visited Abia Facts Newspaper Headquarters in Umuahia to explain their ordeal and call for help towards resumption of the school.
While interacting with AFTV anchor for the programme PEOPLES PARLIAMENT, Comr. Emeh Orji Frank explained that they have discussed with the Commissioner For Education in Abia State on the issue, but the Commissioner told them that the governor is not responsible for the shut down of the school and further explained to them that the Institution Management failed to account for the revenues generated in school which was suppose to be used to pay lecturers salaries and solve other issues in the school.
The Vice President of the Students Union Government, Comr. Ogoegbu Stella affirmed that their school lacks proper management, but called on the State Government to look into their case because their future is at stake if nothing tangible is done about the present situation.
The Welfare Student Director of the school informed AFTV during the interview that their lecturers have refused to attend to students since September 2018.
