Humanitarian and philanthropist, Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna, have sponsored a dance competition for women in all the clans that made up Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State.
Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna is also aspiring to represent Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly under the of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
His philanthropic gestures, among others, gained him the All Facts Newspaper Abia Philanthropist of the year 2021 Award.
15 villages participated in the Ignes Ogbonna cultural dance competition which kick started from February 26 through March 26, 2022.
The competition which was organized to promote the culture and heritage of the people of Arochukwu, held at Amaikpe square, Obinkita, Arochukwu, in Abia state with the 5 clans (Abam, Aro, Ihechiowa, Ututu and Isu) of Arochukwu LGA in full display.
N3million cash price was mapped out for the competition which was shared among all the villages that was chosen from each of the five clans.
Each clan got N600,000 with the 1st position receiving 300,000; 2nd position- 200,000, and 3rd position -100,000
Speaking at the grand finale, the women in various dance groups described Ogbonna as a man of peace and a good leader who is worthy to represent the people of Arochukwu LGA. They charged him to continue his good deeds even if he gets elected to the House.
