Mr. Onyema Wachukwu the youngest Commissioner nominee in the State today scales through the hurdles after being quizzed by members of Abia House of Assembly on the floor of the house.
Some of the members of the Assembly had wanted to give the nominee a safe landing by taking permission to ask the Speaker he be allowed to take a bow and go, but the member representing Umuahia South State Constituency Hon. Jerry Uzosike insisted that the nominee must be subjected to questioning to test his knowledge.
He went further to ask Mr. Wachukwu what he intend to do in the areas of Science and Technology as well as Youths.
The nominee explained that if he finds himself in ministry’s such as Science and Technology, he will ensure that the youths are trained in software programming so that they will make out something better for themselves.
He said as a youth, he will remain a voice for them, and seek for a way to better their lots.
The young Commissioner nominee hinted that his priority will be to create jobs for the youth, in a way that they can be deviated from the normal way of life that they are known for such as thuggery, kidnapping, and other anti-social vices.
It will be recalled that the nomination of Mr. Onyema Wachukwu as a commissioner has generated a lot of controversy across the State with regards to his youthful nature.
