The Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Onyekwere Mike Ukoha, has rewarded deserving SS3 Students across Arochukwu LGA, who did well in an examination competition his office recently organised, in a bid to select the best, for his financial assistance, for the forthcoming 2022 WAEC registration.
Speaking at Arochukwu, shortly after handing cash rewards to the deserving students, Hon. Ukoha, expressed pleasure in the hard work of the students who did well in the just concluded examination.
He hinted that the future of Arochukwu LGA, is in the hands of the upcoming generation who are doing their best to shape a better future for themselves and the society.
Hon. Ukoha, stated that the deserving students got their assistance based on merit, through a carefully conducted examination by an external body across the schools in Arochukwu LGA.
He urged them to always read their books, do their assignments and other necessary things, assuring them that the sky will always remain their starting point.
The Lawmaker, further encourage the students not to look at their parents backgrounds, stating that determination is the key to everything in life.
Speaking, the Education Secretary Arochukwu LGA, Mrs. Patricia Obasi, stated that she has never seen a Lawmaker such as Hon. Ukoha, who is always after the welfare of his people.
She noted that this is more that 3 times she has been invited by the Lawmaker to either Commission one project or another.
Mrs. Obasi advised the beneficiaries to utilise the money to better their educational background, while urging the people of Arochukwu LGA to always support him, in his desire to make his constituency a better place.
In his speech, a community Leader/Media guru, Captain Eugene Okey Imuoh, lauded the many positive achievements of Hon. Ukoha to the people.
He noted that the Lawmaker has done a lot to his people in all facets of life due to his humane disposition and likeable personality.
Captain Eugene Imouh, thanked the Lawmaker for his good gestures to the deserving students. He prayed God to continue to bless him so that he will do more to his people.
Also Speaking, a stakeholder in Arochukwu, Elder Mrs. Charity Achinivu, explained that she has decided to follow the path of the Lawmaker because he has things to offer to the people he represents.
Elder Achinivu recalled many interventions of Hon. Ukoha, towards the overall development of Arochukwu LGA, stressing that his kind is rare in the society.
In their separate speeches, Sir Idika Okorie, Mr. Godson Kalu, thanked Hon. Ukoha, for his financial merit award to the deserving students.
They noted that they have never seen such gesture as exemplified by him and prayed God to reward his good deeds.
In an interview, some of beneficiaries including Master Agwu Emmanuel Kalu, of Umunnabuo Secondary Technical School, Ezuma Jeremiah O. of Ututu Secondary Commercial School, Augustine Henry A. of Aggrey Memorial College, Arochukwu and others, thanked Hon. Ukoha, for remembering them in a big way.
They all expressed delight that the financial assistance will go a long way in the registration of the forthcoming SSCE/WAEC examination, while praying to God to reward him mightily in his future endeavours.
It will be recalled that 10 students each across the 5 clans in Arochukwu LGA, made it in the well conducted merit award external examination.
Among the schools include, Aggrey Memorial College Arochukwu, Umunnabuo Secondary Technical School, Ihechiowa, Ututu Secondary Commercial School, Ututu, Isu Secondary School, Isu, Abam High school, Abam, among other schools.
