THE PAINS OF THE RETIREES AND THE JOY OF ABIA STATE GOVERNMENT. A TALE OF THE DYING SOULS

Written by Elder Azubuike Ihuoma Erondu JP (JP)

I decided not to make this very post as an open letter since it appears more like TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

Considering the nature of the subject matter and how and how well people would love to sample their opinion, I have chosen to discuss the issue of LGA RETIREES and the grave consequences of their abandonment even as they live in hopelessness and pains of aftermath services of their lives.

As at today even as I write in tears, the LGA retirees are being owed up to19 months of their benefits and entitlement which obviously is their right. The question is what went wrong with the system. Before this evil trend, particularly when Chief Charles Ogbonna was the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Abia was receiving between 1.6 to 1.8 billion and people from that sector wasn’t owed anything, in fact they were paid as at when due. Today Abia gets well over 3.8 to 3.9 billion Naira and yet the LGA retirees can’t get their money. I am worried about the development and if not check could further degenerate into some kind of unexplainable situations.

Our old parents are being pushed to their grave fastly. I might not know whom the next victim would be but surely some one somewhere who spent the most resourceful part of his life serving you is dieing without help.

Pls pray for them.

Elder Azubuike Ihuoma Erondu JP (GDJ)
