The Abia State governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor has said that he wants to become a governor that the people chose, and not one that was imposed on them.

Engr. Nwafor stated this on Thursday when he paid a courtesy visit to traditional rulers in Igbere community of Bende Local Government Area in Abia State.
Accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso and a crowd of supporters, the governorship candidate stated that he came to present himself to them and also seek their fatherly blessings as he embarks on his journey to better the state.
Saddened by what he termed “years of misrule”, he assured that he will transform and development Abia, as that was what inspired him to throw his weight in the contest so as to better the lots of Abians.
Nwafor who described himself as a visionary leader promised to provide good health care services, massive infrastructural development and good welfare for workers if elected the governor of the state in the 2023 general elections.
Responding, on behalf of the Igbere traditional ruler’s council, Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu (Enyi 1 of Ezeji) thanked him for finding their son worthy as a running mate and opined that youths such as them are needed in such a time in the state, as they would seek to get things done well.
Eze Ukaegbu assured him that the people of Igbere will massively support him and his Deputy to make sure that they gain victory come 2023 general election.
In a brief interview with journalist, Dr Chimaobi Anyaso, affirmed that his principal is a visionary leader who shares the same vision with him which made it easy for them to align together.
He noted that even though, Engr. Nwafor comes from Abia South, it matters less compared to his heart for the people of Abians, as he would be the governor of Abians and not give any room for segregation.
He pledged to work for the party in other for it to have a political spread across the three senatorial districts in the state, and see to it that the party takes power from the present government in the state.
