The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari for comparing Nigeria’s price of buying fuel with that of Saudi Arabia.
AYCF National President, Yerima Shettima said Buhari had no basis to compare Nigeria with Saudi Arabia.
Speaking with DAILY POST, on Tuesday, Shettima noted that Saudi Arabia has a better welfare package for its works, unlike what was obtainable in Nigeria.
The AYCF National President, however, stated that Saudi Arabia pays only N50 more in the price of petrol than Nigeria.
He also urged the Buhari-led government to be lenient with Nigerians in terms of policies.
According to Shettima: “You can’t compare the welfare of Saudi Arabia with that of Nigeria. The minimum wage in Saudi Arabia is far more than that of Nigeria. They are getting almost N300,000 while we here are just talking about ten percent or less.
“Even with their minimum wage, the difference in pump price of fuel between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria is just N50.
“But for whatever reason, government must be seen to be lenient to Nigerians because we deserve better than where they are today.”
