The Vision Africa/ Abia state ministry of education 2019 Abia school debate presentation of prize ceremony, which held on March 16, 2020 at the vision Africa compound, was a colorful and successful event.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries amongst which where the president of Vision Africa Bishop Sunday Onuoha, Royal fathers, representatives from the federal ministry of education, principals, the management and staff of Vision Africa Radio and the students of participating schools who won the first, second third positions in the just concluded debate that saw over 100 schools participating from all length and breadth of Abia state. Gentle men of the press were not left out.
The schools in attendance were; St. Theresa girls secondary school, Olokoro which came first in the just concluded debate
Methodist Girls secondary school Ovim Isiukwato and Marvelous Christian academy 32 Dozie way Ihie Ndume which came second and third respectively
The event started with Prayers their after the National anthem was sang and the St. Theresa girls secondary school band delivered a befitting band performance to officially mark the opening of the event.
St. Theresa girls secondary school also delivered a jaw dropping Cultural group performance as well as a Navy parade performance that left the crowd overboard and all smiles.
Other highlights of the event included choreography and dancing performance by Methodist Girls secondary school Ovim.
More cultural performance by St. Theresa girls secondary school and drama presentations on cultism sensitization and the Nigeria judiciary system from the drama group representing Methodist Girls secondary school Ovim and Marvelous Christian academy respectively left audience puzzled on how much of positivity the teachers have impacted the young kids.
The representative of the ministry of education chief Paul o. Apugo made his remarks and danced with the students present at the events
The students who participated in the debate at the vision Africa debate 2019 were presented their award prizes during which the Rivalry which existed during the debate completion was still in play during the acceptance speech as St. Theresa girls secondary school challenged Methodist Girls secondary school to more victories
The ministry of education Judge Mrs. Gozi Mbanaso and other Independent judges also had few words of advice for students who didn’t make it to the award ceremony urging them to work harder. The producer gave his Vote of thanks and final words from and also a Closing prayer was said to mark the climax of the event.
An interview with the lead speaker Kalu Ugwu Maria of the winning school revealed she and her colleagues did a lot of work late nights and enjoined all students to read their books.
