A serious altercation ensued between two of the five armed robbery suspects arraigned today, at the police Headquarters, along Bende road, Umuahia, in Abia state.
Trouble started when one of the robbers, began shedding tears in the van, shortly after their arrangement, pointing accusing fingers at the leader of the notorious gang, identified as Promise Sunday Obilor a.k.a Esere, aged 26.
One of the robbers, amidst tears alleged that he was dragged into the mess by the leader of the gang, Esere, regretted his involvement in the criminal act, lamenting
“You have implicated me”, wept.
However, Esere who already knew what the outcome of their action will be road back.
Hear him: “Who implicated you? How did I implicate you”?
I dragged you into this mess, right? You’re lucky I’m handcuffed else I would have struck you hard. Did anyone force you to join us? Are you a baby? Is anyone of us here a kid? Were you chained to follow us or to belong to this gang? Can you imagine this guy saying I implicated”, he thundered.
The criminals who were said to have been responsible for the killing of a couple, Mr. & Mrs Darlington Chinyere Ezenwa after robbing them of their proceeds from the day’s sale, along Secretariat Road, Ogurube layout, Umuahia.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Esere was the second in command of the late dreaded notorious Sampson Iheukwumere Nwokocha AKA Grave,but subsequently took over the mantle of the gang after the latter was shot dead by a an intelligent team of the police, on December 3, 2019.
