Beneficiaries Of Abia SME Grant Storms Govt House, Express Gratitude | DETAILS + PHOTOS
Beneficiaries of Abia NG-CARES Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) grant, has expressed gratitude to the Abia state government led by governor Alex Otti, OFR.
The beneficiaries who stormed the state government house in Umuahia in their numbers on Wednesday, thanked the governor for having the interests of Abians at heart, adding that the grant will help them boost their various businesses.
Receiving the beneficiaries on behalf of the governor, the deputy governor, Engineer Ikechukwu Emetu stated that Abians and it’s residents are hardworking and industrious people who deserve every good thing to encourage their businesses.
Emetu noted that the grant is in line with governor Otti’s campaign promise of stimulating the economy through the Ministry of SME and Digital Economy.
He advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for growth and sustainable development of their various businesses.
“The money is for you to stimulate the economy of the state so you can be a wealth creator and employer of labour. This administration is not discriminatory in the disbursement of the funds as Abians and non-Abia indigenes benefited from the grant”, Emetu stated.
Addressing the beneficiaries also, the Commissioner for SME and Digital Economy, Dr. Mathew Ekwuribe described Governor Otti as “an SME-loving Governor who is eager to transform the state’s SME and Digital Economy ecosystem.”
“It will also interest you to know that Governor Otti has the interest of every Abia indigene and resident at heart. He is currently transforming SMEs from wealth seekers to wealth creators.
We are making it real in doing what government is supposed to do for the people and we expect you to maximize the opportunity diligently” the Commissioner added, assuring that more grant schemes will be rolled out before the end of 2024.
On his own part, the Director General, Abia State Orientation Agency, Pastor Dike Nwankwo, stated that the government of dD Alex Otti, is poised at ensuring that everyone gets what is due to them.
He charged them to use the grants judiciously.
