WATCH VIDEO: How Teenage Pregnant Girls Were Rescued From Baby Factory In Abia
Operatives of 14 Brigade Ohafia of the Nigeria Army, on Sunday, June 4, raided a baby factory located at Umunkpeyi Nvosi in Isiala-Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
During the raid, twenty one teenage pregnant girls, a non-pregnant teenager, two babies (a boy and girl), were recovered from a dilapidated building said to be run by one Nma, an indigene.
Also, one Katherine Oyechi Ngwanma, a 34-year-old chef at the facility, was arrested by the troops.
Speaking to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, some of the girls said they came to the facility already pregnant and were told that the owner of the facility who is now on the run, will house them and take care of them until they deliver.
Troops raided the baby factory following an intelligence report that the owner of the factory was selling some of the babies to criminal agents for ritual purposes, and others for child trafficking.
Items found in the place include a Tiger generator, a stretcher, gas cylinder, a bag of rice, 4 cartoons of tin tomatoes, 5 litres of Vegetable oil, 2 bags of garri and soup ingredients.
The rescued persons were moved to Umuahia and are currently at Madonna hospital where they are receiving proper medical attention and further profiling, courtesy of the Abia state government led by His Excellency Dr Alex Otti.
