A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Kingsley Megwara, have accused the state chairman of the party, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere, PhD of having a major hand in the crisis rocking the PDP in Abia state.
Speaking in an interview ‘Focal Point’ on AF-TELEVISION on Saturday, Megwara stated that Okere has a critical role to play in the party notwithstanding that governor Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD, is the party leader.
According to him, the critical role and responsibility placed on Okere as the chairman, should make him say no to some offers which would not benefit the party and its members entirely, even when the offer/order comes from the governor.

“Abia PDP may be in trouble, and that trouble I can only attribute to the incompetency of the party Chairman. Either that Asiforo is incompetent or is highly being pushed around.
“As at now, we have conducted elections, we still don’t have election results coming out from Arochukwu, Ohafia. These people are clamoring that they didn’t even see election materials not to talk about those who are conducting election”.
“I feel for my party; I have no idea of what is going to happen but I am not going anywhere; am very critical about what we are doing now because I want us to get it right” Megwara said.
He restated that the issues of salary, pension payment, dirty environment, and others, have doubled under the present administration.
