2023: Why PDP Should Strike A Deal With Kwankwaso – Reno Omokri Advises | READ DETAILS
Former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, have advised the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to reach an agreement with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State, ahead of the 2023 presidential race.
Kwankwaso is currently the National leader of the New Nigeria Political Party (NNPP).
Explaining why PDP should strike a deal with Kwankwaso if they are eager to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Omokri wrote;
The PDP should strike a deal with Kwankwaso. Because if Kwankwaso runs, he will not win. However, he will pull mass votes in the Northwest, that would have gone to PDP. Meaning that if the APC fields Tinubu, then they can defeat the PDP, whether the PDP fields a Northerner or a Southerner.
The Yorubas are the most sophisticated voters in the Nigerian project, and are second only to the Northwest in their ability to deliver bloc votes. They are likely to vote APC.
So, if the Northwest votes are split, and APC picks its vice presidential candidate from the Northeast, it means they will be able to gather enough votes from the North to pull off an upset.
Kwankwaso is key! We know he cannot win. But he can definitely stop the PDP from winning by running.
