Abia born businessman and philanthropist. Chima Desdmond Anyaso (Ofuji Ndi Bende), has formally declared his intention to contest in the 2023 Abia State Governorship race under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr. Anyaso, the founder Chima Anyaso Foundation, declared his interest on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Practicing school Uzuakoli in Bende Local Government Area.
He had contested in the 2019 House of Representatives election under the PDP.
Making his intention known to the people of Bende and other supporters, Anyaso noted that 2023 is the right time for capable youths to take over the leadership of Abia state for positive development.
“I have answered the call.
“Come May 29, 2023, standijg here in front of you, by the special grace of the Almighty God, will be your next governor.”
He assured the people that with the new amended electoral Act, there won’t be room for rigging and the people’s votes will count.
The aspirant thanked people for trooping out to show support.
“I am very happy to see you people today and what I have seen today, has boosted my moral the more”.
He charged the people of Bende and all Abians not to be afraid, rather come out in mass to cast their votes for the PDP during election time.
Responding on behalf of the youths and Nigerian students, Mr Kingsley Daberechi Ekejiuba, the president, Progressive Abia Youths (PAY), assured Dr. Anyaso of their support.
“We are here to show solidarity to someone who has made us proud.”
The youths maintained that they will shake Abia in 2023, saying no to unemployment.
According to the spokesperson, Abia state has the highest record of unemployment in the country.
“In 2023, youths across the length and breadth of this state will shake the state and we are believing that in 2023, with Dr. Chima Anyaso, we are going to say no to unemployment, bad roads; our leaders have failed us”.
“The youths will take over and make our society better”.
Ekejiuba also noted that Anyaso through his foundation, has given business support to youths in the 17 LGAs, scholarship to students, among others.
