Chief Bond Christian Oluchukwu Ohuche, has joined the race for the 2023 Abia state governorship position.
Ohuche who hails from Arochukwu on Wednesday, May 25, formally declared his intention to run under the African Action Congress (AAC) at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia.
Addressing the State Working Committee of the AAC, Ohuche said, 2023 is the turn of Abia north district to take over power, adding that it had been his heart desire to change the narrative of Abia State.
“it’s my desire and prayer that the party considers me worthy to be their candidate” the aspirant noted.
Ohuche assured that if elected into power, under his leadership, there will be durable and not just accessible roads, at least 22hours electricity supply, quality education, world class health facilities, resolve the Abia pension scandal, among others.
“we have plans to liquidate pension debt. We will make sure that pension administrators will not be feeding fat on the pensions of those who had labored for years” he added.
Speaking further to All Facts Newspaper, Ohuche expressed confidence that he and AAC has all it takes to take over power adding that the ruling PDP, APC, APGA and others have failed.
He maintained that the state can be transformed to compete with European standards as his administration if elected will bring in years of experience from the private sector, engage visionary individuals, utilize natural resources in the state to deliver his agenda for Abians.
Earlier in his response, the Abia State AAC Chairman, Hon. Charles Oriji, expressed happiness that Ohuche chose to exhibit his leadership prowess under the platform.
He affirmed that the test is not an easy one, however he assured the aspirant that the party would support him where necessary, while God will do the rest.
“AAC welcome you as one of our aspirants. As you continue, God will be your strength” Oriji prayed.
According to the chairman, AAC is looking up to people who has the capacity to change the narrative of Abia and Abians would testify that a good leader has come on board.
