You Will Be Prosecuted, Vehicle Impounded If You Cover Your Plate Number – Abia Govt Warns Appointees
The Abia State Government has warned appointees and aides of the governor against covering their vehicle plate numbers.
In the announcement, Pastor Caleb Ajagba warned that it is a traffic offence to drive cars/vehicles whether private or official with number plates covered.
He made it clear that anyone caught disobeying this instruction, his or she vehicle will be impounded and the individual will be prosecuted.
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
DRIVING WITH COVERED NUMBER PLATES
Dear Colleagues & Appointees of government
This is a further reminder that it is a traffic offence to drive our cars/vehicles whether private or official with their number plates covered.
Apart from the fact that it is a criminal intent, it is also a flagrant abuse of extant FRSC laws. Indulging in this, helps to shield criminals who may want to hide under this guise to commit crimes and get away with same.
As a corrective administration, all appointees of His Excellency are once again advised in their own interest to desist from driving their cars with covered number plates.
Anyone caught indulging in this criminal fantasy, will have his or her vehicle impounded and prosecuted accordingly.
Please ensure adequate compliance, as this directive from His Excellency takes immediate effect. Kindly pass this directive to others to avoid any embarrassment and subsequent prosecution.
Thank you.
Pastor Caleb Ajagba, PhD
Chief of staff to the Governor
