World Wrestling Champion Osita Offor, Set To Partner Abia Govt To Revive Wrestling
The wrestler and philanthropist Osita Offor who recently joined politics, confirmed his commitment during an official interactive session with the Abia State Commissioner for Sport Nwaobilor Nwadimma Ananaba on 24th of August 2023 at the Ministry of Sports, Umuahia, Abia State.
Ultimate Commander ‘Osita Offor’ who is also the Convener of United Abia Artistes and Patriot Forum (UAAP), revealed that his passion was rekindled after an interaction with the Sports Commissioner few days ago, he assured members of the Sports Ministry that he will do everything within his power to make sure that many more Ultimate Commanders are produced in Abia State.
While giving an insight into the project, the technical adviser of Nigerian Wrestling Federation Sir Ohaike Damia, revealed that the wrestling crew will visit all the 17 Local Government Areas in Abia State for talent hunt and after which a wrestling competition tagged “Alex Otti Wrestling Classics” will be hosted.
He assured that this project will produce wrestling stars that will represent Abia State in national competitions and also Nigeria in African and World competitions if the state gives it proper attention.
While contributing, the Abia State Commissioner for Sports Nwaobilor Nwadimma Ananaba, confirmed the readiness of the state government to develop sports holistically.
He revealed that his vision is to give proper attention and develop other Sports in Abia State.
The Commissioner went further to assure Ultimate Commander ‘Osita Offor’ and his team, that Governor Alex Otti is interested in Sports which is why the governor is planning to rebuild Nsulu Game Village. He posited that Nsulu Game Village will have sports facilities, training camps and many other infrastructures that will add value to sports.
He equally added that the State will have a College of Sport Excellence, where Abians with great sporting skills will be educated and groomed for excellence.
Nollywood veteran Emmanuel Ehumadu popularly called Labista, appreciated the Commissioner for his warn reception and support towards the project.
