TR0UBLE: Wike Withdraws Approval For Atiku To Use Stadium For Campaign | READ WHY
Few days to the campaign rally of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar in Rivers State, the state government has withdrawn it’s approval for the use of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Atiku’s presidential campaign rally was scheduled to hold on February 11, 2023 at the stadium, however, a letter dated January 31, signed by Barrister Christopher Green, the Commissioner, Rivers state ministry of sports, said the Campaign organisation of Atiku Abubakar will no longer be allowed to use the stadium.
The Commissioner alleged that Atiku‘s campaign council was planning to share the facility with a faction of the APC in the state led by Tonye Patrick Cole. He further explained that campaign activities of the said APC faction have always being violent and as such the ministry cannot risk having government properties in the stadium damaged.
